RoCM Playlist: 30 Mar 2024

I was planning to do another themed show this week, but considering some of the technical issues we have experienced the last few weeks, I decided to do a more general show and save the themed show for another time. The station was kind enough to reach out to me and let me know that they are handling it – and I think it’s important to remember that KCSB-FM is largely run by students and volunteer staff who do an excellent job of keeping things going under fairly chaotic conditions. These things happen. Frankly, I was just flattered to know that they thought my show was important enough to reach out to me directly.

Anyway – this week we do have two birthdays. We have an early celebration of Gil Scott-Heron (born April 1st) as well as a late celebration of Cecil Taylor (born March 25th) – with a fine collection of great music to round things out. I know I promised some Alice Coltrane this week, but I’ll hit that next week.

Don’t forget that you can listen online at KCSB-FM’s website and there is an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
