RoCM Playlist: 14 Dec 2024

Two birthdays today that we cover on the program – John Lurie and Jerome Cooper. John Lurie – famously of the Lounge Lizards but also featured in a pretty interesting series called Painting With John which had a three season run documenting his transition from musician to painter. The name is a play on his six episode show on IFC called Fishing With John. Jerome Cooper was a member of the Revolutionary Ensemble but also released a number of albums on his own including the one we feature today.

Lots of newer releases as well – from Gary Bartz and Rob Mazurek, as well as a new release from the trio of William Parker, Cooper-Moore and Hamid Drake.

Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
