RoCM Playlist: 11 Oct 2025

So lots of stuff from the Midwest jazz scene this week – not exclusively but still quite a bit. We hear from Chicago Odense Ensemble, Black Artists Group, Hal Russell & NRG Ensemble, Phil Ranelin, Fred Anderson, and the World Saxophone Quartet – all with their origins in the Midwest.

We also have three October 11th birthdays this week – Petra Haden, Lester Bowie, and Art Blakey.

And lastly, some Ornette Coleman and Tony Scott to round things out.

Here is the playlist. Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
