RoCM Finale: 10 Jan 2026

So this is it – the final edition of RoCM for the foreseeable future – and I only really say that because, when I left Santa Barbara in 2011, I reasonably thought that my time on the KCSB airwaves was done. The idea of ever coming back was not a consideration but alas, the world had other plans.

I want to give my most heartfelt thanks to anyone who has ever tuned into the show. It’s really a labor of love, and I really tried to pour a bit of myself into every show. I love this music, I love radio, I adore KCSB and all of it’s idiosyncrasies, and most of all, I love Santa Barbara.

As for the reasons I am stepping away, the real truth is that we have a lot going on at the moment and I really haven’t had the time to devote to the show that I would like. I was told that none of this was apparent to the listeners, but for me, putting in 6-8 hours every week was getting harder and harder to do – and rather than force things to continue, I decided it was best to step away for a bit, hopefully recharge, and think about returning when I feel a bit more refreshed. Obviously, the are no guarantees – but my hope is that this isn’t really the end, only the end for now.

So with that – thanks again to everyone, and I will miss you all.

Oh and here is the paper written about Nonaah that I mention during the show.

And here is the final playlist. Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
