RoCM Playlist: 09 Mar 2024 (Update: Accidental ReAir)

So there was a technical glitch this week and last week’s show aired instead. Not sure what happened. Kind of a bummer since it really took effort to get it out but these things happen.

So to cap off several weeks of personal and work commitments that have made life a bit hectic, my hope that this week would be a return to some sense of normalcy was thwarted by a pretty decent case of the flu that knocked me out on Monday, Tuesday and a decent part of Wednesday. I haven’t been that sick in years – so alas, this show was thrown together in a pretty hasty order. The music is great – but I was still not 100% when putting it all together so forgive me if I sound like I’m not completely with it.

And it was also my kid’s birthday this week, and we have family visiting from California – just to add to the stress of being out of it for a few days. Here’s hoping that next week is finally back to a regular schedule.

As far as the show goes, we’ve got a very cool collection of tunes from the Antibes Jazz Festival in 1977 and a couple of birthdays – Ornette Coleman (Mar 9, 1930) and Kali Z. Fasteau (Mar 9, 1947) – with some additional odds and ends. The Keir Neuringer performance is not for the impatient – but I quite liked it.

Don’t forget that you can listen online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
