The Friday Riff Reborn (virtually, that is…)
So back in 2007-08, I hosted a radio show on KCSB with my long lost friend Rob Wallace called “The Friday Riff”, which ran for almost two years before life got in the way (as it tends to do). Recently, I was able to restore the website for said radio show in all of its wondrous, vintage 2007 WordPress style glory at its original location – http://riff.coolmojo.net.
Somewhere in my digital archives, I believe I still have the audio for every show. Something to add to the personal projects list, I guess…
Unarguably, the coolest moment of hosting The Friday Riff was meeting Oliver Lake, who was at UCSB for a residency at the College of Creative Studies. We facilitated an on-air interview with Oliver Lake and UC Santa Barbara Professor George Lipsitz – who did most, if not all, of the heavy lifting. Still, a very cool moment and one of my highlights at KCSB. I’ll try to track down the audio from that interview – it’s around here somewhere.
