RoCM Playlist: 04 Oct 2025
So apparently the show last week was preempted and I didn’t see the email until this week. I’ll have to find a time to squeeze in that Marc Ribot track as that whole album is great. I should also mention that the Fall 2025 KCSB Programming schedule is out and we are still on Saturdays at 4pm Pacific Time.
This week, we have newish releases from Ivo Perelman & Matthew Shipp String Trio as well as Roscoe Mitchell while ending the first hour with a great track by Charles Bobo Shaw & Human Arts Ensemble.
We head into the second hour by celebrating the birthday of frequent Pharoah Sanders collaborator and vocalist Leon Thomas, who was born on Oct 4, 1937, with tracks by Marc Levin and Monnette Sudler to round things out.
Here is the playlist. Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
